Alice Brady Beckmann’s Collection consists primarily of poems and songs of the period surrounding the American Civil War, mostly between the 1840 and 1890. The material was transcribed by Ms. Beckmann from period magazines, newspapers and other public sources as well as from scrapbooks, account books and other personal sources.
